Menstrual Disorders -Irregular Period Causes by Excess Heat In TCM Perspective

Excess heat is defined as condition of kidney yin deficiency causes of the rise of liver heat due to insufficiency of moister distribution or/and excessive yang or not enough yin in the body as a result of intake of hot and spicy for a prolonged period of time.

3. Infection or inflammation Infection or inflammation caused by invasion of bacteria and virus due to weakening immune system in guarding our body from foreign substances, causing heat pattern in the body that affects the kidney yin, leading to its inability to support the normal function of uterus, thus increasing the risk of uterus contraction.

1. Shi jue ming (Abolone shell)
The cold herb has been used to drains liver fire, ascending yang – headache, dizziness, red eyes caused by liver heat and kidney yin deficiency.

2. Zhi zi (Jasmine)
The cold herb is good in clearing heat, treating irritable, restlessness and insomnia.

3. Huang qin (Baikal scullcap)
It has been used to clear liver yang rising, liver heat, treat headache, irritability, red eyes by smoothing the large intestine, lung and stomach channels. It is also bitter and cool in nature.
