Health benefits
1. Irregular heart beat
In mice study, researchers found that intravenous injection of 10-25mg per kg of Bai Fu Zi A can correct irregular heart beat caused by Aconitine.
2. Circulatory system
In mice study, abdominal injection of 140mg/kg Bai Fu Zi base A can prevent damage of membrane of red blood cells from hypoxia.
3. Relieve pain
In mice study, researchers found that abdominal injection of Bai Fu Zi Base A can relieve pain caused by burning and radiation.
4. Hypoxia tolerance
In mice study, researches found that abdominal infection treated with 140mg/kg Bai Fu Zi Base A, 140mg/kg low levels of Sodium chloride, heat (50 degree Celsius), low PH (5.5) and saponin hemolytic activity.
5. Inflammation
In gastric perfusion study in rat, researcher found that Bai Fu Zi base A of 98mg/kg has an inbibitional effect against formaldehyde, HTR2A, a member of the serotonin receptor family, and histamine arthritis.

6. Tyrosinase Skin damage
Bai Fu Zi lightens the skin against the Tyrosinase, a skin darkening agent, according to the study of “[Microwave-assisted extraction technology of skin-lightning agent in Rhizoma Typhonii].
[Article in Chinese]” by Gong S, Yang Z., posted in PubMed(1), researchers found that The dry extract of Rhizoma Typhonii with 20.9% yield and 47.1% relative inhibitory activity against tyrosinase was obtained. Compared with direct-heating extraction, MAE can shorten extracting duration, and improve relative inhibitory activity of the extract against tyrosinase.

7. Tumor
Bai Fu Zi stimulates the T cells scavenging function, phagocytosis of tumor cell and allo-antigen in treating tumor, according to the study of “[Human T cell and monocyte modulating activity of Rhizoma typhonii in vitro].[Article in Chinese], by Shan BE, Zhang JY, Li QX., posted in PubMed(2), researchers filed the result in abstract that RTE (Rhizoma Typhoniiextract)has immunoenhancing activity to human T cell and macrophage, through stimulating the killer cell and phagocytosis of tumor cell and allo-antigen, which could be used clinically for modulating immune responses and for treating tumor and other diseases.

8. Cancer
Bai Fu Zi enhances the immune lymphocytes by stimulating the effect on immunoglobulin (Ig) production by B-cells and interleukin(IL)-1 production by monocytes that can promote the activities of inhibition of the cancer cells, according to the study of “Stimulating activity of Chinese medicinal herbs on human lymphocytes in vitro” by Shan BE, Yoshida Y, Sugiura T, Yamashita U., posted in PubMed(3), researchers suggested that CMH extracts have a stimulating activity on human lymphocytes and these abilities could be used clinically for the treatment of diseases such as cancer.

  1. Alisol B acetate is a triterpene from Rhizoma Alismatis (rhizomes of Alisma plantago-aquatica). It induces apoptosis in human prostate cancer cells. It produces protective effect against ANIT-induced hepatotoxity and cholestasis, due to FXR-mediated regul Alisol B 23-acetate
